Process Development Department
Research Scientist - Cell Culture and Protein Purification
- Education - Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in biology, virology, or related field is required.
- Experience - One or more years experience in cell culture and/or fermentation techniques is desired. Experience in both areas as well as with insect cells/baculovirus is a real plus. Industrial experience working under cGLPs or cGMPs would be beneficial.
- Responsibilities - The successful candidate for this position will help perform cell culture maintenance and cell scale up, perform virus work (scale-up, titration, infection of insect cell cultures), and perform protein expression optimization studies. Preferably has experience in operating spinners and small fermenters. Sharp troubleshooting and problem solving skills are essential for this position as are strong organizational and communication skills. Experience with technical writing is desirable.

Research Scientist - Protein Purification
- Education - Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in biology, biochemistry, or related field is required.
- Experience - One or more years experience in protein purification and liquid chromatography is desirable (gel filtration, hydrophobic interaction, reversed phase, affinity, ion exchange chromatographic techniques, ultrafiltration techniques, homogenization, etc.). Experience with BioCad automated purification systems a plus. Industrial experience working under cGLPs or cGMPs is a plus.
- Responsibilities - The successful candidate for this position will help develop and scale up purification procedures for recombinant proteins. Sharp troubleshooting and problem solving skills are essential for this position as are strong organizational and communication skills. Experience with technical writing is desirable.

Research Scientist - Molecular Biology
- Education - Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in molecular biology, biology, virology, or related field is required.
- Experience - One or more years experience in molecular biology or virology is desirable. Industrial experience working under cGLPs or cGMPs is a plus.
- Responsibilities - The successful candidate for this position will help generate recombinant baculoviruses for recombinant proteins of interest and work to shorten cloning timelines. Sharp troubleshooting and problem solving skills are essential for this position as are strong organizational and communication skills. Experience with technical writing is desirable.

Quality Department
Quality Analyst
- Education - Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. in biochemistry, biology, microbiology or related field is required.
- Experience - One or more years experience in quality control or quality assurance is desirable. Industrial experience working under cGLPs or cGMPs is a plus.
- Responsibilities - The successful candidate for this position will perform routine laboratory analysis, enhance and/or develop analytical and microbial methods, implement SOPs and perform document control duties. Troubleshooting, problem solving, strong organizational and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to interact across all functional areas. Experience with technical writing is desirable.

Quality Manager

- Responsibilities - The successful candidate for this position will supervise/perform routine laboratory analysis (quality control), enhance and/or develop analytical and microbial methods (quality control), write and implement SOPs (quality control/quality assurance), perform/supervise raw material testing (quality control/quality assurance), be involved in validation activities (quality control/quality assurance), perform document control and review (quality control/quality assurance), and raw material control duties (quality control/quality assurance). Manufacturing Department
Engineer
- Education - Mechanical or electrical degree or equivalent technical education or Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in engineering.
- Experience - One or more years, preferably in a fast paced manufacturing environment is desirable. Ideal candidate should have cGMP experience.
- Responsibilities - The individual will be responsible for operating and maintaining utility systems and equipment to support biopharmaceutical manufacturing. Familiarity with HVAC systems and chillers, steam boilers and generators, compressed air and gas systems, and water systems is a plus as well as familiarity with maintaining/repairing steam autoclaves, freezers, coolers, refrigerators and incubators. Will also be responsible for implementing and maintaining equipment/system logbooks, a Calibration Program, a Preventive Maintenance Program, and a Master Validation Program. Strong mechanical aptitude, sharp troubleshooting and problem solving skills are required for this position as well as strong organizational and communication skills.

Manufacturing Associate
- Education - Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience - The successful candidate should have experience measuring, mixing, and weighing; be willing to become cross-trained in other areas; and be reliable. Manufacturing environment experience is a plus. Good written and oral skills are necessary.
- Responsibilities - Duties will include cleaning and sterilizing glassware and equipment as well as preparation of solutions for manufacturing processes used in the manufacture of proteins and vaccines. Additional responsibilities include preparation of large process vessels, maintaining written documentation systems, and provide support as necessary to cell culture, fermentation, and purification areas. Heavy lifting, some mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail required.

Manufacturing Cell Culture Specialist
- Education - BS in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or Life Sciences
- Experience - 3 to 5 years in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. Must have a solid understanding of cell culture processes. Insect cell and baculovirus experience is a real plus. Ideal candidate should have cGMP experience.
- Responsibilities - As a member of the Manufacturing Cell Culture group, the individual will be involved with production of biologically active proteins targeted for clinical trials. The successful candidate for this position will help perform cell culture maintenance and cell culture scale up. Preferably has experience in operating spinners as well as large fermenters. Sharp troubleshooting and problem solving skills, proficiency in aseptic technique and strong documentation skills are essential for this position.

Manufacturing Fermentation Specialist
- Education - Minimum BS in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or Life Sciences
- Experience - 3 to 5 years in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. Must have a solid understanding of cell culture processes. Ideal candidate should have cGMP experience.
- Protein Sciences Corporation is seeking a hands-on fermentation specialist with experience running large scale bioreactors. Must have experience in all bioreactor activities including cleaning, sterilization and fermentation. Must be able to lead and train others and be able to troubleshoot bioreactor related problems. Experience with insect cell culture a plus. Sharp troubleshooting and problem solving skills are essential for this position as are strong organizational and communication skills. Experience with technical writing is desirable.

Manufacturing Purification Specialist
- Education - BS in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or Life Sciences
- Experience - 3 to 5 years in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. Must have a solid understanding of protein purification and bioseparation processes. Ideal candidate should have cGMP experience.
- Responsibilities - As a member of the Manufacturing Purification group, the individual will be involved with purification processes of biologically active proteins targeted for clinical trials. Must have hands on experience and a good understanding of gel filtration, hydrophobic interaction, reversed phase, affinity, and ion exchange chromatographic techniques. Experience with BioCad automated purification systems is a plus. Experience with HPLC methods and semi prep Flow Cell hardware is desirable, as is an understanding of immunological assays and SDS-PAGE. Sharp troubleshooting and problem solving skills, proficiency in aseptic technique and strong documentation skills are essential for this position.
