News | June 6, 2000 Protein Sciences Corporation enters into distribution agreement with Nihon Nosan Kogyo Meriden, CT and Yokohama, Japan, June 6, 2000. Protein Sciences Corporation (PSC) and Nihon Nosan Kogyo KK (NNK) are pleased to announce today that they have entered into a distribution agreement to market PSC's research products in Japan. NNK, a Yokohama based manufacturer of animal feeds and biotechnology related services, will be the exclusive distributor. Under the terms of the agreement, NNK will provide sales and marketing, warehousing, shipping and technical support functions for PSC's expresSF+™ insect cells, BEVS related research tools and research antigens - these include gp160, gp120, p24, p66 and p55. This alliance combines PSC's extensive experience and world leadership in the production of proteins in insect cells with NNK's experience in providing unsurpassed products and services to the experimental animal feed and life sciences community in Japan. This alliance represents an expansion of insect cell protein production services for NNK building on its extensive experience in the production of bioactive substances in silkworms. Manon Cox, Vice President, Corporate Development commented "Protein Sciences is very pleased with this collaboration. Founded in 1983, PSC is the world leader in developing commercial protein-based human and veterinary vaccines and therapeutics in insect cells using BEVS technology. The Company's principal business is developing such vaccines and therapeutics as a service for customers through GeneXpress™. This program enables customers to access Protein Sciences' proprietary BEVS technology to obtain human and animal proteins for screening and cGMP clinical materials from genes more reliably, rapidly and less expensively than through alternative protein expression systems.
