News | October 11, 2002 Protein Sciences announces promotion of Dr. Penny Post to Director of Manufacturing Meriden, CT, October 11, 2002 - Protein Sciences Corporation announced today that Penny Post, Ph.D. has been promoted to Director of Manufacturing from her position as a Research Scientist/Project Manager in the Process Development group. Penny received a B.A. from Middlebury College and a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Carnegie Mellon. Before joining Protein Sciences three years ago, she worked as a Post-doctorial Fellow and Associate Research Scientist at Yale University. Daniel Adams, President and CEO, commented, "We evaluated over 100 outside candidates and interviewed more than a dozen. Significant in our decision to choose Penny Post was the realization that we needed a high level of scientific expertise in addition to leadership skills in the manufacturing position. Penny was clearly superior to all others in meeting our criteria." Founded in 1983, Protein Sciences (www.proteinsciences.com) is the world leader in developing genes coding for proteins into commercial human and veterinary vaccines, therapeutics and diagnostics using its proprietary baculovirus expression vector system (BEVS) technology that includes its patented expresSF+® serum free, high yielding, scalable insect cell line. Customers access PSC's proprietary BEVS technology through its GeneXpress® program. This allows them to obtain cGMP human and animal clinical materials more reliably, rapidly and less expensively than through alternative protein expression systems. PSC also has several patented products in development including influenza vaccines, recombinant hemagglutinin and neuraminidase (both of which have completed Phase II clinical trials), erythropoietin and an insect-cell based adjuvant (both of which have completed animal tests). |
