Protein Sciences announces granting of Trademark Protection for GeneXpress® and expresSF+®
Meriden, CT, June 11, 2002 - Protein Sciences Corporation announced today that it has been granted additional trademarks by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. These include:
- "GeneXpress®", which applies to Protein Sciences' proprietary biochemical preparations which are used for making proteins in insect cells. Protein Sciences' proprietary baculovirus and insect cell technology allows the delivery of clinical-grade material within less than a year and for less than $1 million after receipt of the relevant gene. The United States registered mark is in addition to similar protection granted in other countries. Protein Sciences previously received trademark protection in Canada for the mark "GENE EXPRESS".
- "expresSF+®", which refers to Protein Sciences' patented insect cell line. The expresSF+® cell line has many unique characteristics including: scalability to over 500 liters, totally serum free, high yielding, stable for more than 50 passages and tested in accordance to FDA protocols. The expresSF+® cell line is available for purchase for a one year trial period and for license.
