Protein Sciences Corporation (PSC) is a privately held company that was founded in 1983. The Company has completed five rounds of equity financing and has raised over $45M including several million in non-equity licensing fees. PSC generates revenue through the GeneXpress service business, research proteins business and technology licenses. PSC filed a Biologics License Application (BLA) for its lead product FluBlok® with the U.S. FDA in April 2008, seeking licensure under the Accelerated Approval pathway. FluBlok has been granted Fast Track and priority review status. The FDA has inspected PSC's manufacturing facility and has provided a list of items that are being addressed in anticipation of licensure. PSC anticipates FDA approval of the FluBlok vaccine for use in people 18 years of age and older for the 2009/10 influenza season.
