Licensing Opportunities Protein Sciences Corporation has the following programs that are available for partnering. Oncology Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA) CEA is an antigen commonly found on the surface of breast and colorectal cancer cells. Protein Sciences has created a recombinant vaccine based on this antigen. Phase I studies combining this vaccine with a GM-CSF (Granulocyte Macrophage-Colony Stimulating Factor) adjuvant were completed. TSP-1 is a potent inhibitor of angiogenesis and effectively inhibits a wide variety of angiogenic stimuli, including VEGF, proteins that act via tyrosine kinase receptors, G proteins, serine/threonine kinase receptors and lipids. Protein Sciences holds an exclusive worldwide commercial license to an issued patent for the use of TSP-1 for the inhibition of angiogenesis (U.S. 5,192,744 issued March 9, 1993). Bio-generics Erythropoietin Erythropoietin (EPO) is a glycoprotein that stimulates red blood cell production that is normally produced in the kidney and the liver. Protein Sciences has cloned, expressed and produced the protein and seeks experienced partners for devising formulation and delivery strategies for rEPO, and for supporting clinical development. Infectious Diseases Veterinary Influenza Vaccines Protein Sciences has several subunit vaccine programs ongoing based on recombinant hemagglutinin and neuraminidase proteins produced in BEVS.
