Cell Line
expresSF+® cells, hours post infection
PSC has created and patented its own S. frugiperda insect cell line (expresSF+® cells) which grows in the absence of fetal bovine serum, minimizing the costs associated with their growth medium and possesses regulatory advantages. The cells also grow in suspension culture making them ideal for large scale manufacturing and product commercialization.
The cell line has been extensively characterized and does not contain any known pathogenic viruses or microbes. Products manufactured using these cells have been given regulatory clearance for human clinical testing in the following countries/territories:

- Canada
- Europe
- Australia
- Japan
PSC has also been establishing high cell density and fed-batch procedures for use with the cells to further enhance product yield.
